Photo Anthony "Nin" G. Sacco At rest on June 23, 2008 with his family by his side at age 82. Loving husband of the late Rita Sacco. Cherished father of Anthony R. (Marianne) Sacco, Steven R. Sacco, Maria Sacco, Gary (Linda) Hamilton and Linda Hamilton; proud grandfather of Vincent, Vanessa, Mario, Matthew and Stephanie Sacco; devoted son of the late Rosario and Maria Sacco; adored brother of the late Josephine Sacco, Steve Sacco and Anne Richard. Anthony was a native of San Francisco who grew up in the Mission district, attended St. Peters Grammar School and Mission High School before serving in the Army during WWII. On his return he attended City College before receiving his masters degree from Cal Berkeley. He then served as a merchant marine during the Korean Conflict. When he returned home he became a firefighter for 37 years for the city he loved. He retired from the San Francisco Fire Department in 1991. Friends may visit on Thursday (TODAY) from 4-5PM at the chapels of Valente Marini Perata & Co., 4840 Mission St., SF and after 6PM at Corpus Christi Church, 62 Santa Rosa Ave., SF where a Vigil Service will be held at 7PM. Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, 10AM from the chapels of Valente Marini Perata & Co., then to Corpus Christi Church where a 10:30AM Funeral Mass will be celebrated. I am sorry to announce the passing of Tony Sacco. Tony was beloved by so many people - he loved his neighborhood. My condolences to his family but also to all his friends - this is a sad moment - San Francisco has lost a true friend.
