What: Legislation being introduced by Supervisor David Campos to stop the speculators from using buyouts to get around prohibitions on condo conversions and other tenant protections:
Require buyouts to be filed and registered with the SF Rent Board
Impose the same condo conversion prohibitions to buyouts which are attached to no fault eviction.
Require landlords to notify tents of their rights prior to negotiating a buyout.
Give tenants the right to rescind a buyout for 45 days after signing the agreement.
Come and attend the hearing and tell the Supervisors that we need to stop the eviction epidemic.
